bcb723 Part II of Valravne's "Some Kind Of Vampire" is even stronger than Part I - it's deeply fucked-up twin. More varied black metal, more Ted Bundy but these songs of mass murder are the absolute shit. Put the two halves together and this is quite the statement from Valravne. Favorite track: Nothing Left to Corrupt.

SouthernWolf The first three tracks are more than enough to secure Valravne's place as a unique, ferocious talent in USBM, and then "Lucid Nightmare" kicks in, and I realized how versatile of a songwriter he is. Less vicious of a track, but incredibly stirring and cathartic. Likely my anthem for 2020.

Rambo Saw this came out and immediately bought it. Don’t even need to listen to the two new tracks to know it’s an instant purchase. This guy knows his stuff. Favorite track: I Only Pray For Your Death.

The song does have its moody and menacing aspects, but the super-heated energy of the track and its blaring melodies leave a dominant impression. The second track 'I Only Pray For Your Death' channels a wild ferocity, leavened with grand swirling and cascading melodies, fret-melting solos, and berserker vocals . . . And the last of these four, “Lucid Nightmare”, sort of betrays its title, because (at least to these ears) it’s resilient and defiant in its sound.
